Quelites

What are Quelites?
The word quelite comes from the Nahuatl word quilitl that means vegetable or edible tender plant. Wild edible plants have been consumed for centuries, and are still a big part of Mexican cuisine. In Mexico, more than 350 species of quelites are consumed, which have been selected by the local traditions of the different towns and regions.

I made a series of illustrations that highlight 11 different plants that are considered quelites.
